DFW Program Suspended

Archery is run by USVI Department of Planning and Natural Resources–Department of Fish and Wildlife, funded by United States of America Fish and Wildlife Service, in cooperation with Sports Parks and Recreation has been suspended due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.

While the cancellation of this program is disappointing to its participants, we here at viarchery.org feel it is the correct decision by DFW. Please be safe and practice physical distance. We hope to see everyone when this pandemic is over.

2016 Juan Enrique Barrios (JEB) Cup World Ranking Event and the Caribbean Development Championships

Dear Archers,

Happy New Year!

Please find attached an information packet for the Juan Enrique Barrios (JEB) Cup World
Ranking Event and the Caribbean Development Championships, which will take place in
Puerto Rico April 30 to May 5, 2017. Also attached is the preliminary registration form, which
MUST BE FILLED OUT AND RETURNED BY JANUARY 20, 2017 by all archers, officials, and
chaperones (parents). See form for details.

In addition, the Archery Federation of Puerto Rico has announced that they can make their
training center in Salinas available for teams wanting to train up to seven days prior to the Juan
Enrique Barrios Cup.  

The training facility will be open for visiting teams on April 21-28.  Accommodation and three
meals will be offered for 50.00 USD per person per night. Please indicate on the registration
form if you wish to participate in this extra training and the dates.

Please note that these special rates for accommodation are ONLY for the 7 days available for
training week. During the competition, the official accommodations will move to the Hyatt
Place Manati. See attached packet for information on hotel fees during the Event.

Costs to participate will include:
Registration Fee – archer $100, official $60
National Coach/Captain Fee TBD (dependent upon number of participants)
National Team or CDC Official Shirt TBD (uniform required by World Archery)
Event Accommodations – $119 per room per night (meals extra, see packet)
Training Week Accommodations & meals – $50 per person per day
Round Trip Air to SJU – TBD

Current Virgin Islands Archery Federation Membership is required. All registered participants
must provide a photo headshot for security purposes.

Once you are pre-registered, you will receive updates including when the fees are due and how
to make your hotel reservations.

As required by World Archery Americas and the Organizers, participant registration for these
events may only be made by the respective National Archery Federation, in this case, the Virgin
Islands Archery Federation (WA Virgin Islands).
